About the Artist
Lauren Bush is a self-taught artist born and raised in Dallas, Texas and currently based in Berlin.
Her latest work focuses on the surreal in the real: the beauty in the mundane. Through textured brushstrokes, subtle distortion, and obscured figures and faces, she attempts convey the beauty in the mundane—not by abstracting away from the form but by abstracting into the form: focusing on the mere appearance of things in a way that allows their unnoticed patterns and intricacies to come to the fore.
